Books and Teens

Books can provide the reader with a completely different world and this can enrich the reader’s imagination and intelligence. Reading or being read to is even more important for children and later on teenagers. Books are valuable resources from which children do not only learn a story but they learn to solve the puzzle that is often contained into a story.

Most individuals, especially parents, choose to introduce books to their children when they are very young. Luckily, the book industry now allows parents to buy books and reading materials for children any age. Even babies can be read stories while pressing buttons on the so called interactive book. However, the story in the book becomes more valuable for the children when they begin to understand the message that the author wanted to transmit through their stories. If the children are very young, one should choose books that are colorful and that were especially designed for children at a small age. They have the ability to combine the story telling with the images which help the child imagine how the story actually went.

Books are even more important for teenagers as they can significantly improve one’s capacity of concentration and one’s vocabulary. Most teenagers do not like reading and they think this experience is something far from relaxing. However, studies have shown that reading outs one’s mind and brains at work and allows them to develop better intellectual capabilities. Books often tell more than a story and they usually have a more important message to pass onto the reader. Adolescents must learn how to get past the story and solve the puzzle that hides in the main story. The variation of characters will also teach them how to distinguish between good and bad.

All in all, one cannot stress enough the importance of books and reading and one should be given the opportunity to enjoy these experiences as soon as possible.
